The Next Google Event: News, Rumors, and Announcements

The next event will cover Android and Gemini, plus the new Pixel phones and smartwatch

Google holds events both annually and less regularly to announce new products and functionality. Google I/O is the company's conference for developers, while Made by Google is more consumer-facing.

What Is the Date for the Next Google Event?

The next Made by Google event is scheduled for August 13 at 10 AM PT. The last one, Google I/O 2024, was on May 14.

What Will Google Announce?

According to the company, the next Google event will be about Pixel devices, Android, and Gemini. We're due for updates on the Pixel Fold 2, Pixel 9 phone, Pixel Tablet 2, Pixel Watch 3, and a new TV streamer to replace the Chromecast.

Previous Google Events

At Google's last event, the keynote for Google I/O 2024, the company talked almost exclusively about its Gemini AI platform. They showed off features that give you summaries of email threads and spreadsheets and an "AI Teammate" that you can add to Workspace to keep track of projects.

The significant addition to search lets you incorporate videos like you can already use images. It's called Search With Video, and the examples they showed involved recording a malfunctioning record player and getting troubleshooting tips to fix it.
